Carole Sheppard passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024.

 

On Saturday, November 2nd, 2024, Bay Area Friends of the Fine Arts (BAFFA) dedicated a bench in Carole's memory. The bench was placed at the historic Gillette House near the BAFFA Art Gallery.

Carole’s love for the arts was evident through her active involvement with BAFFA over many decades. As a volunteer and later President of the organization, she played a key role in arranging local art shows,  BAFFA Orchestra concerts, and the BAFFA Chorus, where she sang as an alto. She also contributed her time to the Sayville Village Improvement Society, volunteered at the local food pantry, and was a dedicated member of St. Ann's Episcopal Church, where she served for a time on the vestry.​

BAFFA and the local art community are a better place because of Carole's devotion to the arts.
